Big power on tap! The EX 450F motor delivers monstrous amounts of torque from its compact SOHC motor, which our engineers have reduced in weight for 2024. We don't need to tell you that the EX 450F absolutely rips but thanks to a little engineering wizardry, and a slight tilt backwards in the frame, the motor further centralizes mass in addition to significantly improving anti-squat behaviour. In short, this bike handles like a dream.
There's a lot packed into this SOHC cylinder head! Redesigned to be lighter and more compact, it sure helps to deliver the best on-track performance possible. The intake ports have been revised to pump up the horsepower numbers while a new, fine-punched cam chain further improves the reliability that this bike's known for.
CYLINDER AND PISTON
Essential to the EX 450F producing strong, smooth power is the lightweight aluminum cylinder and CP bridged-box-type piston. By bumping up the compression ratio to 13.1:1, our engineers have improved performance with the motor now pumping out an impressive peak power that will water your eyes!
Transferring power to the rear wheel, the redesigned six-speed transmission is built by Pankl so you know it's going to be good! With an updated shift shaft reducing the force needed to change gears, shifting up and down the box, which features revised gear ratios, is silky smooth. Plus, there's a sensor on the shift drum which, together with the engine management system, activates an engine map tailored for each gear. Pretty clever, right?
The EX 450F crankshaft is key to the motor delivering great traction and enhanced rideability, as well as also helping give the bike its agile handling. Benefitting from long service intervals of 90 hours, a plain big end bearing comprising two force-fitted bearing shells to ensure maximum reliability and durability.
The protective housing that keeps all internal components safe and secure! Redesigned to centralize all internal parts, the crankcases are thin yet strong and lightweight thanks to being made using a high-pressure casting process.
Inside the EX 450F motor you'll find a robust and super reliable Damped Diaphragm Steel (DDS) clutch housed inside a CNC machined steel basket. This style of clutch does away with traditional coil springs and instead, there's a single diaphragm steel pressure plate and a damping system which helps get the power to the ground.
Fast is fun but slowing down is essential, which is why all GASGAS dirt bikes are fitted with high quality Braktec calipers and controls. With a 260mm front disk and a 220mm rear disk, both featuring a GASGAS specific design, braking performance is certainly impressive, which inspires riders to push harder, ride faster, and brake later using the redesigned lever.
No need for adjustment and offering a near maintenance-free operation, the best thing about the Braktec hydraulic clutch is that it provides consistent action. With free-play at the redesigned lever automatically adjusted, the biting point and function of the clutch remain constant no matter whether the motor is started from cold or used during the heat of a battle.
INTEGRATED COOLING SYSTEM AND RADIATORS
Keeping the motor cool are a set of strong aluminum radiators, which channel the air through them in the most effective way possible. A large centre tube within the frame is used to reduce the number of hoses needed and ensures a consistent flow of coolant around the engine - just what you need when you're in the heat of a battle!
Built to take a beating, our wheels are ready to play rough. No matter how heavy the landing or how rough the track is, the silver, CNC machined hubs, lightweight spokes, and high-strength EXCEL rims deliver maximum strength for complete peace of mind.
One of the only components carried over from the outgoing generation of GASGAS cross country bikes are the Dunlop tires. Need to know why? It's simple. They perform so well on a wide variety of terrain and they're super-durable too. After all, who likes changing tires?
ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM - EMS
Small, light, and fast at processing data - just what you need from an engine management system! The Keihin component is the best in the business and engages each gear's engine map, includes a rollover sensor that cuts the ignition during big crashes, and feeds information to the hour meter. Plus, if you install a Map Select Switch (available from your local GASGAS dealer as a Technical Accessory), it instantly synchronizes for plug and play simplicity and gives your bike traction control, quickshift and two engine maps for customised power.
MAP SELECT SWITCH
Unlock all the potential of your GASGAS dirt bike with the optional Map Select Switch. Designed for maximum control, it features two purpose-built maps, along with traction control and a quickshifter. Fine-tune your power delivery for various terrain, and experience seamless upshifts from second gear upwards. A must-have GASGAS Technical Accessory for everybody wanting to go full gas.
The EX 450 F uses a 44mm Keihin throttle body with an injector positioned to ensure the most efficient flow of fuel mixture into the combustion chamber. But what's most important to all riders is the fact that the direct cable mounting system ensures an immediate throttle response.
The best invention since the wheel! With an electric starter fitted, this GASGAS starts super easily every single time you hit that start button. And to simplify things further and save space on the bars, the engine stop button is located in the same housing as the start button. Using a Li-Ion battery, which weighs approx. 1kg less than a conventional lead battery, you get the convenience of electric starting while the overall bike weight is kept to a minimum. It's a win, win for everyone!
